Hi all, I am a 30+ year collector of US type who has recently started exploring ancients, especially Roman emperors. I recently picked up this Tiberius denarius for a good deal from a reputable dealer. Thoughts and feedback?

Some honest wear, and a couple of little nicks, but still a handsome coin. Welcome to the world of ancients. Impressive that your first foray would be a Tiberius.

I am glad that you bought from a reputable dealer. When buying ancients it is essential to have sources you trust.

Also, that is a nice Tiberius.

Thanks for the feedback. I've long been aware of and wanted this coin due to its Biblical connection. I did on a whim buy a couple of rough, very low grade random ancients a few years ago (including a cheap Tiberius that turned out to be fake, which I got a refund on.) but recently decided to really pay attention, do some research and get some nice coins that I'd be proud to own and display in my collection. This Tiberius was the first effort in that direction. I'll try to post pics of other things as I pick them up. As with the other sections of this forum, there seems to be plenty of expert advice here that I can use!
