Quote: Humbly suggest that you save the PCGS insert for future reference .... Absolutely. For your purposes and for the price you paid, I think it's a no-brainer. And remember that though this coin has been cleaned, it does nothing to change the fact that it is a genuine Trade dollar that was minted in San Francisco in 1877. When I think about it this way I become a lot more forgiving of cleaned coins. Oh, and I'll buy this from you for $106.

Quote: I keep all of my inserts and tape them to the inside back cover for reference. Seems like a popular and logical practice. I plan to do the same if/when I crack a slab for the album.

Oh My Gosh, Kyle! That's a great Trade dollar, and a great price. It's a beautiful addition to your collection. Jack . PS - Keep the insert.

I agree! I wouldn't hesitate picking up this example @ that price point. Solid score. Great coin.

Looks great in that 7070. If you're really bothered by the hairlines maybe using it as a pocket piece for a little while would take care of them.

Well I had the chance to return it if I didn't really like it and at least the hairlines were only super noticeable in the right lighting aka sunlight. With just our house lights you can't notice them too much and yeah I really like how it looks in the album!

I think nice-looking "details" coins are a great way to fill an album! Yesterday I found this at a small local Show: Asking $46, I got it for $40. Was going to crack it open... until I learned the O-108 variety is Scarce (R.3). Now I'm re-thinking my album -- maybe I'll send all my Capped Bust halves to ANACS.

Quote: Received it today and yeah there are a bunch of hairlines all over this poor coin but I still think it is worth it. If many years from now I have the funds to truly upgrade it then $105 won't put me back that much. Still looks very nice in its new home! I think she looks great in there.
