With great sadness I read of the passing of Albert Pick at the age of 93. All world paper money collectors owe a great debt of gratitude to him. May he rest in peace.

Another hobby giant has left the world a better place than he found it. I remember translating the first Standard Catalog of World Paper Money from his German hand written faxes to English in the old Krause Publications conference room. Staff members would snatch up the pages as I finished them and speed off to editing and type setting. His hand writing was a real challenge and the faxes were of terrible quality which left me guessing frequently. The good old pre-computer days.
