Some info online says the first ones were cardboard, but I know some later ones (70's) were plastic.

Does anyone know what year they switched to plastic? Or is the cardboard info incorrect maybe?

1958 and prior had none

1959-1964: round cardboard token with gray shield denoting mint

1965: Special Mint Set token; it looks plastic but unable to confirm that

1966 and 1967: no token

1968-1972: token looks plastic

1984: P or D on cent blank
