I have very boring plans for my rebate...into the ol' retirement account it goes! Found money, so to speak, should always be put away.
Rest in Peace

WOW, I need to wake up and smell the coffee. This is the first I've heard of this rebate. Whats the deal? $600 per person? That'd be nice I guess.

yeah, with the way our debt is growing, might as well make the rebate $1,000,000/taxpayer. We're in for a rude awakening very, very soon. Those foreign countries who's economies start to stall out(China) are going to come to us for their money back, and we ain't going to have it....then what happens?

As much as Id like to start a gold type set, I'm afraid I owe the government money from last year. Big bummer. But I'm hoping that my refund is more than I owe.

Personally, if the rebate does come, i'd suggest buying gold, hold onto it until the recession is over, because it will come, you can't pump up the economy for 20 years and expect it not to crash, this whole rebate thing is a republican (though the dems might do it if they were in the whuite house) way of trying to buy votes for the next republican candidate for president.
You need something that isn't going to fall in price too much, putting it in the bank might be a bad idea, the dollar has lost a lot of value in the last few years and it might just lose quite a bit more, coins will generally keep their value, depending on demand of course, but if you buy gold, it'll still be worth almost the same at any point.

I'm waiting for the money in hand before I even think about it. Been down that road before and it DIDN'T come through. So I've learn to wait till you have in your hand before thinking of spending it.

Cant remember where I seen this, but it looks like if we get a rebate, it wont be until June/july. Just what I've seen, no real facts :)
