Even if not damaged, I don't think the value would be affected much if any.

- in that condition the problems don't really subtract a great deal more from a lower value. Still interesting.

good points there. I just believe the gouges, including the one through the date, is unattractive, and I only want attractive coins in my college. but I haven't really seen another rotated 1872. The current 1872 error in my collection is a solid F12 with a nice Cud on the reverse. http://s904.photobucket.com/user/Ro...l?sort=6&o=9

here is an 1872 coin with an interesting die crack or break on reverse. 1872-Rotated-Indian-Head
