I don't have a great deal of experience in selling the last time I sold a small lot I was in a depression for months after and now am sweating again thinking of same venture but not sure of how I should list in US or Cdn funds? I had a little success a year ago on Kijji but got too many nutbars this time so got out of that in a hurry.

Being a Canadian there is nothing that bugs me more than buying from a Canadian seller that ship's from Canada and then having to pay in US funds. I won't do it.

I can't give you any advice as a seller, but as a regular buyer from Canadian sellers, I can tell you that neither format makes a difference to me. ebay normally adjusts Canadian pricing for me (lowering the price) to US dollars, so I always know what I'm really paying.

As "mcshilling" mentioned, it probably irks fellow Canadians more than a little. If the posting was switched (US sellers posting items in Canadian (or other) currency, it would probably irritate me too.

The only problem I have (and likely Canadian sellers too) is postage problems over the borders. The high costs, and often s-l-o-w deliveries, hurt sellers probably more than the currency variations.

As a buyer, I don't care because I factor the exchange into the price. It bothers me if the seller thinks they can list in USD at CDN pricing though.

Ok Thanks for input. I would think USA buyers must be smiling these days.

A Canadian seller should always list in Canadian, the buyer and seller gets ripped of by paypal and credit card on exchange rates, I think you will get more bidding on Canadian coins

Selling in US dollars is the only way to go if you want stability as a seller. You get better exposure and do not close yourself off (as a Canadian seller) to the very lucrative US market for Canadian coins. This is where most BETTER Canadian coins end up anyways.
As an earlier post stated shipping and delivery times shipping from Canada are way more of a killer to a Canadian seller.
This is specifically why we moved our business to near the USA border. To take full advantage of shipping using the US postal service. The amount of paperwork is minimal to the benefits received . Also the US border guards are a heck of a lot easier to deal with than the CBSA. Bringing coins BACK in to Canada is just a lovely experience NOT. Even when all your B3 s and Customs invoices are in order you are in for at least a one hour treat.
Lastly most savvy Canadian sellers listing in USD always adjust to compensate for currency fluctuations as best they can.
It is known as BUY IT NOW or BEST OFFER . Doing auctions on ebay these days for run of the mill cheap Canadian Coins is just plain silly .

Looking at this issue purely as a Canadian buyer only unless a must have coin, I don't want to lose another 5 to 6 % on just money grabbing exchange fees, US buyers are already benefitting on top of exchange
