Checked the nickels at my wife's work since I was a little early picking her up and found this beauty ... has to be a mint error, right? Weighs 4.3g

A round King George VI so between '22 and '42. This coins reminds me of something someone with 7 posts would claim to be a mint error held in the family for 40 years, denie proof otherwise, tell us they are going to a TPG and than rage quit the forums.

Between 1937 and 1942. That's pretty cool! not sure if its acid or some kind of weathering over time

I'd say that it's a Chinese copy of a die-implosion. Could be worth hundreds and hundreds of theoretical internet dollars.

Quote: JR of CCN will be calling for upcoming article use.....the rare molten die strike....he has only seen a few. That made me chuckle. But I've been told JR no longer works there...
