coinnewcomer1 Valued Member United States 175 Posts	Posted 06/03/2021 7:46 pm I have lost count but since asking for them consciously from banks about a year ago, probably have spent about $300 in dollar coins. Great to use where there is ample public transportation. In fact, in some states the buses allow you to use cents and Kennedy halves too! You imagine the scene I create when I decide to pay a bus fair with a mix of quarters, half dollars, cents, dimes nickels and quarters. Report this Post to the Staff

I broke open a bunch of modern proof and mint sets and wound up with 40 or so proof dollars. My girlfriend and I use them when we want midnight snacks at the gas station.
