First, I'd never even consider having some private firm hold my collection or precious metals since I doubt that they are highly regulated as banks since it is a newer and fairly small industry. Second, these types of establishments seem to be very secretive (probably for good reason) but that in my mind increases the chances that a shady operation could take items from your box and you would have little recourse. Third, Anyone considering using one of these services should look at what happed with Bullion Direct where tens of millions of dollars of customer assets disappeared.
