*** Moved by Staff to a more appropriate forum. ***I have had this Toonie in my safe for well over 8 years and I am wondering the real value of it. It came out of a brand new roll of Toonie the year 2007 toonie went into circulation. It is missing numbers partial letters on the other side slightly faded . Any help would be great.

I think I have an idea but I don't want to make a judgement yet based on your one pic. Can we have clear pictures of both sides, showing the full coin?

Most likely a Grease Filled Die, do not see too often on toonies maybe 100 to 200 bucks.

There are no devices on the reverse, opposite to the obverse feature, however, it looks like the die polish is missing on the reverse at that point. I would say the nickel ring was defective (lamination peel during the upset mill (which makes the rims) perhaps), prior to the strike. Cool find...

So what does this all mean ? For 8 years always wondered what it is worth ? How to appraise it or sell it. All I know that there are pieces missing from it and it came from the mint that way....

Much better pictures, just chuck it on ebay you will get some bids for sure, go to a coin dealer or local coin show see what they will offer, probably around 50 to 100 bucks, good luck

Since none of the major devices are absent, it is a Twoonie struck on a flawed planchet. It would be worth anywhere from 35 to 50 dollars. Certainly no where near as valuable as this one (this is one I bought in Montreal, and sold to a Twoonie collector here in Ottawa): http://www.PCGS.com/cert/%2032839556
