$10 in customer wrapped at lunch today - they didn't have a box.
1st roll - 43P and 58D
Nothing else. I'll take it. Another war into the tube.

This is craziness. Nothing in box after box then I open 5 rolls of customer wrapped this morning and find 2 War Nickels and a 1947 in ef condition. Oh the joys of treasure hunting.

Searching nickels has been very fun so far this year, it has helped me get through some slow silver searching with halves. Here are some results of the keepers I have been accumulating - 6 Brinks boxes searched, 300 rolls: 8 from the 30's - all Jefferson 94 from the 40's 100 from the 50's 75 - mix of 68',69',70' S mints5 War Nickels - 3 '43 P, 2'45 P 11 Canadian - 1956 to 1968, all with little or no wear I have found that the usual box has roughly 40 keepers. I have 1 more box for the weekend and will post the results later. Happy searching to all!

Another box down. 32 1959 and unders including a 59D with 5 steps and very few circulation marks.
2 foreign, 1984 Bermuda and 1988 Canadian
9 S-mints from 68-70.
a few BU full step versions from 82-95.
No wars, no buffs.
Another box tomorrow.

here's a newbie question..what years do you want to start looking for full steps. Also, just found 2 43Ps today..one in fairly good shape with windows and columns. Other is a nice Greaser with no "tice" in monticello. Ugly obverse though..will post pictures this evening.

Another box.
5 - 2009P's - if anyone needs one, let me know.
31 - 1959 and earlier 8 - 1968-1970 S mints
no wars, no buffs.
2 foreign. 1988 Canadian .05 1988 British or Canadian 1 penny? - bigger than a penny, almost nickel size. Thoughts? Says Elizabeth II and D G REG ED 1988 on front, has the number 1 at bottom on back with wording one Penny across the top.
Replaced a few of 1992 and newer coins with some BU Full steppers from the 90's and early 2000's. Looked like someone dumped a bunch of stuff they had set aside.

Start looking for full steps from 1938 forward...you know...right after they got rid of the buffalo. Neat finds on those 43P's...that Greaser is very interesting, and I'd give the other one a XF40, a little too much wear on the top of Monticello to go any higher IMHO.

yea the triangle really needs to be distinct for it to go above xf, except on those issues from the 60's where the dies are worn so much that all of the details on the reverse are obliterated lol

1 Brinks box tonight:
15 pre-1955 (I'm chucking back 1956 and earlier now) 1938 and 1952-S are the only notables
2 Canadians: 1989, 2000 (fills a hole in my Canadian Nickels from U.S. Circulation album)

1948 S mint found last night......pretty low mintage on that one, and it filled a hole (something I haven't got to do in quite some time !)

Filled a hole! 1951-S. Found it on the seat I was about to sit in in a bar in Ybor City last night. XF condition too! All those boxes and never got one, someone has one fall out of their pocket and it ends up on the seat I get next. Weird!
