Well! Haven't done a box in two weeks, but school's out now and I got 2 nickel boxes and a cent box to last me the weekend. But it probably won't.  SO! Here are the results for the first box. No silver  No buffs Funny part-I needed a 1946-S for my book and I found 4 1946's in this box! Then at the second to last roll I found what I was looking for! 1946-S  Anyone know what happened to Jeff? |

That 1994p might be a die crack, I would need to see higher resolution pictures to tell for sure though

You guys are so lucky. Went through a whole box and only found a few pre 1960's. I did manage a yuan coin and a 2010 and 2009 nickel. But nothing special. This next box is just about the same. And I keep getting jipped, I'm each of ky last bags I got a penny in place of a nickel!
May I ask what do you mainly limit yourself to keeping? Silvers? Pre 1960's and 2009's?
I don't want to keep a lot tied up in nickels and keep every '04 and '05s I find

i keep silver, buffalos, pre 1960, and 2009's. I also have a 1938 to date nickel album so when I find a good looking coin no matter what year, then I will try to replace it with a not as good one in my album. some people keep varieties and errors and counterstamps, but I am not into that stuff.

I keep all silvers, all S mints, and any with a mintage of less than 25 million. I also keep all Buffaloes and foreign. I put back 5 or 6 rolls of 2009s - but I find so many now I just toss them back.

I find it so tough to find good looking nickels. They are much harder to. Etermine quality quickly unlike pennies.
It looks like everyone does things somewhat similar when searching nickels. I'm guessing everyone looks at them under a magnifying glass?

Just finished $32 in nickel rolls and I did all right:
1940-D
1941
1941-S
(These are the only pre-60 nickels that I found. And both '41's were found in the same roll)
1961-D (2)
1962-D (2)
1963
1963-D
1970-S (2)
1978-D BU
1983-D (BU reverse, obverse is ok)
1986-D BU
1993-P BU
2009-P (4) (2 were found in the same roll)
And a 2004 Colombian 50 pesos coin.

Excellent and fun finds by all!  I just passed through 248,000 nickels searched ... still need a 38-S and 43-D for the complete circulation strike set 1938 through 2010. Did score a nice 2011-P in MS65FS ... so I suppose I also need a 2011-D.  David |
