May I ask what do you mainly limit yourself to keeping? Silvers? Pre 1960's and 2009's? I don't want to keep a lot tied up in nickels and keep every '04 and '05s I find I keep 1963 and older, silver and all S mints. Don't get very many of those here on the east coast.

This last box I had was very interesting. usually when I do a box I get more nickels from the 40's than 50's. This box I only got 2 nickels from the 40's. some things to note from this bad box I got. It was bad but ended up good. I pulled 2 1952 s nickels (20.6 mill mintage), one was ms grade. I got another hold filler, a 1956, which leaves me 12 more spaces. I also got 2 Buffalo nickels. 1918 and a 1927. So it turned out to be a decent box. I always love getting a hole filler.

Also, not sure if anyone is interested but maybe we have similar results of what coins we need. I'm putting together a 1938 to date set of nickels found from roll searching, like many other of you are doing. I have completed 15 1/2 boxes (775 rolls) I have all from 1938 to 2011 except the following:
1950 d (2.6 million) 1939 d (3.5 million) 1938 d (5.4 million) 1955 (8.3 million) 1946 s (13.6 million) 1943 d (15.3 million) silver 1953 s (19.2 million) 1944 d (32.3 million) silver 2009 (39.8 million) 1942 p (57.9 million) silver 1945 s (58.9 million) silver 1945 p (119.4 million) silver
I'm interested to see other peoples results. how many boxes or rolls have you done, and what coins do you still need for a full set?

I've been through about 165 boxes and I have found at least 3 of every coin except the 1950d which I have zero.

I did my first $100 box of nickels this week: This is what I found. 1938 - 1 1940 - 1 1940s - 2 1941s - 1 1945P - 1 (silver) 1946 - 1 1947 - 2 1947d - 1 1948 - 1 1952 - 1 1953d - 1 1955d - 1 1956 - 1 1956d - 1 1957d - 2 1958 - 1 1958d - 1 1959d - 2 1960d - 2 1961 - 2 1961d - 3 1962 - 2 1962d - 4 1963 - 1 1963d - 2 2009d - 8 + one dateless Buffalo, and one faintly dated Buffalo (1926). All in all a pretty decen box I think!

Good box! 1 silver and a buff is the average around here, but you got two buffs!
Suprisingly no 1939

I've been working on that quest since I cracked my first nickel roll on February 25, 2008 ..... now at 248,400 coins searched. Still need two to complete the entire circulation strike series from local bank rolls ... 1938-S and 1943-D. I'll be posting my detailed 250,000 coin statistical update soon. David

I have a standing order with a local bank. 2 Boxes of halves, nickels, and dimes every Thursday. I was pretty disappointed today when I received 2 boxes of 2011D nickels and 2 boxes of 2011D dimes. I know that I can make a profit on them if I put them on ebay, but this is my roll searching money that I recycle every week. I would have to wait for it to sell and transfer the money out of my paypal account. I was in a roll searching mood too. Is anyone else getting this many full 2011 boxes?
