Box #33 down  no silver no buffs no proofs foregin: 8 canadians 1939-S HOLE FILLER!          only five left! I'm hoping now to complete the set before 50 boxes holes left: 38D, 39D, 44D, 45D, 50D  Good luck everybody!

Finally, after skunking out on the past 4 or nickel boxes, dime and half dollar box, my skunk streak is over with a 1943D War Nickel. and it replaces a chrome plated guy in my set. still looking for the 39D and 50D to complete my circulated set.

Quote: what is a 'black beauty"? Awhile back the mint did something to the coins and they were not properly "annealed" I think, something to do with the planchlet making or other-maybe another person can shed some light on this.

I thought Black Beauty nickels were made on planchets that got slightly toasted, 'sintered'?
