The Goal: 25,000 Rolls Of Nickels (All Searchers Welcome!)

In 55 boxes or 110,000 nickels searched, I have not found a V nickel yet.

Box 35: 1936 buffalo, an AU 1950, 48S, 46S, 42D. And I found a really cool 5 centavos from Cuba from 1920. I posted pictures of the Cuban and the 1950 a couple pages ago. Also just removed a dateless buffalo that was sitting in vinegar (from box 34) and found it was a 1916! This is the 3rd box without silver.

Box 36: two 1935 buffs (both VF, both in the same CWR, and it happened to be the first roll I looked through). The rest got me a 44 P, and a 56 AU.

4 days in vinegar (I could make out the third '1' after 3 days but the last digit took that extra day to make sure what it was). This was the 3rd dateless buffalo I've tried that with, and the 1st time it has actually worked.

I haven't been keeping track of how many boxes I've been through, but I'd estimate I'm around number 70 by now.

And a good box number 70 was! Got a few more various BU FS 80s and 90s dates, found a 1935 buffalo that I'd grade a high-VF, got an EF 1942D upgrade, and lastly a 1945D with road rash. (that's my 60th War Nickel found)

Unrelated to nickels, I'm starting a new side project of building a complete set of SBA dollars for face value from banks. The batch of SBAs I got along with my nickels gave me a 1981P, D, and S, and a 1979P Wide Rim! This is going to be an easy set.

My son just got done tabulating our Silver, Buffalo, and Liberty nickels.

Seems like luck with nickels is quite varied. I've searched a good few boxes, maybe three or four. I've found 2 War Nickels, a 1904 V nickel (maybe a 3 or 4 grading) and two or three late 30's Jeffersons. Not one buffalo.
