John Paul Valued Member United States 232 Posts	Posted 12/11/2012 10:41 pm I just went through 5 rolls (not as prolific as many of you) and I found 1938 and a 1946 - but neither filled a hole for me. I also found a Canadian 1968 nickel and a 2002 10 pesos coin from Chile - neither of which I had, so pretty good for five rolls. Report this Post to the Staff

As follows: 1940 1941 x2 1941-d 1942 1947 x2 1948 1949 1953 x2 1953-d 1954 x2 1954-d x2 1955 (in high quality condition so good get) 1957-d x3 1958 1958-d x2 1959-d Also one 1999-d with an off center error. My first error coin! Really enjoyed the nickels and will pick up another box. Have a lot of holes to fill so much to look for. Report this Post to the Staff

I actually was going to change that. In the time since my last update on here I have pretty much concluded the 1953 to not be a Henning. The 1939 was a definite Henning. Next post I will change the Henning nickels from 2 to 1. As far as recognizing them, the easiest way is to look at the bottom left leg of the letter R in PLURIBUS. If there is a hole in the leg of the letter you have a Henning. But that being said, not all Hennings have this feature. But most do. If you have a 1944 with no mintmark over the dome on the reverse you have a Henning. If the coin is 10% overweight (5.5 grams instead of 5.0) you more than likely have a Henning.
