Found a 1943P War Nickel and a 1978S Proof that's been circulated a bit. I think I'm more happy about founding the proof then the War Nickel, although the War Nickel is worth more. Both from pocket change that's been collecting in a jar at home, which surprised me, since I normally check all my change for junk silver, proofs, and any major errors I can remember of the top of me head.

Well, just wanted to brag, since I rarely get to. If only I had more time between work to do some roll hunting, maybe next year.

1 box of nickels today.

Found 5 rolls worth of 2013P mixed in, a handful and pre 1960's and S mints, a 1929 buffalo, 2 2009's, a 1974 proof, and a decent 1938D.

Finished two boxes of cents, a box of dimes and a box of nickels this weekend.

No silver, but a very nice 1939P, probably the second or third best one I have. No doubling on the reverse. Also got a complete P-S-D set of 1940, which was amusing, if not profitable.

Found several 2009 P's and the usual assortment of 40's and 50's.

I've decided that the next box I get, I'm going to count all the 1964s. I bet I had close to 100 of them in this box.

jack,

What is your last one that you need to finish your set? For us, it's the 1950d.

Hey all, pretty new to this forum. I really enjoy following this thread as I've found I like searching nickels a lot and I'm trying to fill a Whitman folder as well as collect the usual nickel keepers. My last box was a Strings & Sons and it produced:

3-1939
14-1940's
12-1950's
1990P clipped planchet
1-2006 Singapore 20 cent (Has nice toning)

First box out of six or so with that didn't have a war nick in it.
Pictures by request.

I have been reading lots of the amazing finds here on this topic and I am amazed. It is too bad that I live in Canada because all of the nickels in the rolls I search are post 2001. When I go to the US next, I will have to pick my self up a box or two!

Keep it up!
