The Goal: 25,000 Rolls Of Nickels (All Searchers Welcome!)

Hello, new member here who loves to look through nickels !

I have been looking through coins for 7 years now (since I was 10) and I have found some pretty good ones, my favorite being what I believe is a 1937 buffalo in MS-64, but I am not a great grader. (If someone shows me how I will post pics).

Also I found a barely readable 1924s buffalo

I have found 51 silver nickels (not in my collection) and a few in really good shape

Once I have more time I will post what I have found in nickel rolls but tomorrow I get my wisdom teeth out so I need to get some sleep...

The oldest coins I have found are...
cent: 1882 CRHing
nickel: 1907 CRHing
dime: 1923 half buried sticking out of the ground at a house built by my family in 1923, where it now resides
quarter: 1959 Canadian, never found silver US
Half: 1968d from teller
dollar: 1971 CRHing

1 box today: 1-43S Silver.

Thanks for the links jbuck, and I searched through two boxes of nickels today (one was my best ever) and here are my findings:

Box 1: best box I have EVER had
8 silver ((3)1943p, (2)1943s, (2)1944p, 1945p)
4 buffalo ((2)Dateless, Dateless 1913T1 (had raised ground), 1937d)
2 rare (1938s (better than I already had), 2013d)

this box was without a doubt my best ever and I never usually get this many good coins

Nickels have always been a fun box to go through for me because I love seeing all of the older coins come out of circulation. They always have something (at least usually) and I rarely skunk on silvers, buffaloes, and nickels with less than 40Million minted in the same box, so go ahead with nickels and good luck

on average, I get 1.7 silver nickels per box
68/40boxes- or 1 silver per 1176.47 others

for buffaloes I get .925 per box
37/40- or 1 buffalo per 2162.16 others (about 2 in 5 are dateless)

I have found one Liberty nickel (1907)

I was really lucky with buffaloes and found one in what I believe to be MS 64 (1937) and a 1924s in G-4, but I think I am going to buy some because I want to improve my collection.

I havent ever found a buffalo other than in a roll, until yesterday! I picked up a canadian nickel out of the till at work, and under it was a buffalo looking up at me! 1927 (barely readable).

I have begun to hunt rolled nickels as I recently obtained a Whitman 1938 to 1961 nickel folder.

Last week, I found this Buffalo nickel at work.
