The Goal: 25,000 Rolls Of Nickels (All Searchers Welcome!)

I decided to take a break from buying all coins just to concentrate on halves and nickels. Yesterday throughout the day I bought $1000 in various boxes,MWRs, and CWRs. I went through $400 last night with high hopes.
So far I have only found 1 War Nickel, a 1945-P, and an orange 1928 buffalo.
There have been several nice foreign coins including some extremely shiny Canadians from 2004-2012.
Only other items of note are 2 1950s. No D.

I'm with you Rackster. Took me a full four day weekend to go through one box of halves. I typically pick up an assortment of about 20 rolls when I'm in the mood, and it takes me a couple of days to go through those. The people who pick up a box of halves and go through it in the parking lot of the bank in a few minutes mystify me!

I can do that with pennies relatively well except when those 70s start to look like wheats and I have to check the dates on them, but nickels I always think "Hmm this is a keeper!" and most turn out to be 1964.

I did one box today, and found nearly an entire roll of '40's and '50's nickels! Among these, I found a 1949-s, and a lot of good early dates; however, I'll just show the highlights.

When I was a teenager, my brother and I would get a $50 bag of pennies and search through it in the time our folks would have breakfast. Our goal was to dump the coins out in the back of a '77 LTD and get them back to the bank before leaving the restaurant parking lot. Basically, we flipped for Wheaties and nothing else.

I can't argue your methods bish: you've posted some beauties these last couple of weeks. I'd say nickels are easier for me at the moment as I'm not overly familiar with nickel varieties, but CRHing cents takes me significant time. It took me several hours to get through a $25 box. I'm on a box of nickels now with a goal to get through the balance by tonight.

Latest box: Finally a found 58. This is a hole filler that has taken a long time to find. Am now down to 50D and 44s for my complete set through 2013 from circulation. I have the 44s but found it in a scrap silver bin.

Other finds from the box: 1 CAN, one Taka Bangladesh coin, 40d, 40x2, 41x2, 41s, 46, 56, 58dx3, 59d, and a 76s proof.

Wish I could get better pics, this stood out like a soar thumb. Luster is fully intact, very few bag marks, a good sharp strike from what I can tell, not full steps tho. First two steps are full third is almost. No wear or flattening that I can tell. Pretty cool.
