Quote: Here are a few coins from this month. Most of of the silver coins I find are 1943-P. The 1950-P is only my third or fourth one I have found while CRHing. Nice finds! Quote:Well, I'm organizing my finds right now... so I decided to get a group 47 of my coins together with something in common, and see if they could all say "cheese" at the same time... Nice!

Quote:That is a lot of 2009-P Jeffersons! I find more silver War Nickels that 2009 coins. Yes, it is! A lot of work finding them! I've found barely 50 of these total - the others are in albums. I also sold a couple on ebay... I've found 6x as many War Nickels (308) as these... but I don't have too much trouble finding the 09-Ds (1,106 at last count). I find about 3 a box. I find about 21 Ds for every P. Ps seem to be hard to find everywhere, and Ds as well except for a few parts of the country were they circulated. It doesn't seem that my hometown and the surrounding areas got too many original rolls, as pristine new 2009-Ds just don't show up here - even in hoards. Pretty much all of those I find are XF/AUs.

Went through a "bi-polar" box. First 30 rolls had 28 pre-60s including a 38, 43-S, and a 46-S. Last 20 rolls only produced 6 pre-60s. Overall total of 34 is very nice, along with 3 2009-Ds. In a batch of 10 rolls from another bank, I also found a 49-S.

It was a very nice haul, jbuck... Was really thinking I was might run into a Buffalo as 10 of those first 28 pre-60s were pre-1946 dated coins... I also ended up with an unusually high 7 S-mints out of that box, none later than 1947.

A Buffalo would have been really nice, more for your herd, but you cannot complain about those S-mints.

Yup... would've been nice to find a Buffalo, though the coin I was happiest about was actually the 1938 Philly as it is one of only 9 non-War Nickels that I don't possess at least a full roll of. I've actually got more than 2 rolls of 1943-S nickels now, believe it or not!
I'll be spending my day totaling up my older nickels and all of my cents... I know a couple of people here will be happy to see my older coin totals.

I found a 1908 V-nickel this afternoon. I'm still pretty excited. I didn't even see it at first when I poured out the coins, so I was surprised when it caught my eye. Finding one of these is like receiving a gift from the past. There was dime in the roll with several 2017 nickels.

Nice A123!! Sure is fun finding a century old specimen!! At present, I have a full 1938 P roll and a few extras in a bin I designate for the lowest mintage Jefferson nickels (I have 17 dates mixed in this bin where I already have a full roll set aside). Keep up the good hunt folks! Enjoy seeing the fun finds!

Nice find, aristarchus! I know how much you love those Vs! FYI, I did total my V nickels... I'm at 786,160 coins searched now and my finds are: 1883 N/C: 1 1887: 1 1901: 1 1902: 3 1904: 1 1910: 1 1911: 1 1912-D:1 Will be a few more days on the Buffalos. I can tell you that I have found a total of 146 of them to date. I am "pickling" about 15 at the moment. Once I get the dates on those, I'll be updating my spreadsheets and posting. And nice box, Yanks21! I average about 20 pre-60s and slightly less than one silver per box... and it takes me over 7 boxes to find a 2009-P... I've only found a total of 55 to date. Only once have I found two of them in a single day of searching.

Finished up a box that eclipsed my last box. 4 silvers, 42P, 43P, 44D and 45S and 2 buffalos, a 1928 and 1936. Most silver ive found in a box. That makes 9 War Nickels in my last 3 boxes. Also of note, I havent found a 1930's nickel in my last 4 boxes but in this one, pulled 6 1939's.
