Well, I had an interesting CRH day. Hit three banks in total. 20 CWR produced 6 common pre-60s and 1 09-D. Another 18 S&S MWR produced 7 pre-60s (incluing a 39,42, and 53-S) and 3 09-Ds.

I also picked up a Brinks box... and halfway in, I was VERY frustrated with it - only FOUR super common date pre-60s (2 59-Ds, a 57-D, and a 54-D)! Yeah, it doesn't get much worse than that. The second half was somewhat better in quantity with still a scant seven pre-60s, but MUCH BETTER in quality as a 1943-S, an AU 1938, and a 1951 Philly were amongst them along with a nice slider BU 2009-D. The 11 pre-60s were the 2nd fewest I've ever had in a box, but those two nice coins at the end saved it!

Went through a box last week. Found 4 Canadian Nickels, and 22 pre-60 Jeffersons. Found one that we needed, a 39S!

Also a 37D Buffalo and an 1980S Proof.





We're down to 3 coins left to find in circulation (42S, 51S and 55).

I find it very interesting you managed to knock off all of the key date Jeffersons before two of the semi-keys and that tough 1942-S War Nickel. Do you happen to have totals of your finds to date? Would definitely be interested to see them if you have them. Given my location on the West coast, I have no problem finding the S-minted coins, but the low mintage Philly coins (especially the 1955) are tough!

In comparing the numbers, a couple of things jump out right away for me. You find over 25 pre-60s per box, I find just under 20. You're finding them at a 28% better rate than me. I find a little over 3 2009 coins per box, whereas you only find 3 every 5 boxes. This tells me that likely very few 2009 coins got distributed to your banks. I seem to be one of the fortunate ones who lives in an area where we got them - at least the Denver ones.

Congrats on the 39S dads'!! I also found your numbers interesting. You've had better luck with finding the semikey/key dates/mms than the 2009P. Location is important as we are learning. For Variety hunters, location was always a factor (i.e., release points). But it plays an important role in a CRH enthusiast's ability to fill the holes.

Just a week ago I reported finding a hole filler, the 1942S. Well last night I found another one. That make only three of them that I've ever found in over 275 boxes with two of them back to back.
