I ran into that kind of batch of CWR not too long ago. 32 rolls, and they had pulled everything prior to 1990 except for a stray BU 1982-D. You were lucky to find that proof! As for me, got a box again today. Although it only produced 14 pre-60s, among them were a 1938 and 1943-P & 1943-S coins along with 4 2009-Ds. 10 pre-60s (nothing notable) in my other 1,320 coins (no 2009s) searched. I'll take quality over quantity every time! And I've decided to go "interactive" this year with my spreadsheet... The surprise early leader for pre-60s is the 1939. Some coins have taken 2-3 weeks, or even more. Also, make sure that you deeply submerge it as the vinegar evaporates fairly quickly. Type 1 nickels can be ID'ed without a date. Some from the 20s based on ribbon position and braid details. Once you pickle it...it's a damaged coin. Report this Post to the Staff

Show us what you have first, we might save you some time. Acid dating ("pickling") does take some patience and skill. John77 Pillar of the Community United States 2949 Posts	Posted 01/05/2018 07:35 am Yesterday, I searched exactly 3,720 coins (88 rolls), just like Tuesday. No boxes though. Mostly CWR. Produced 34 pre-60s including my first Buffalo of the year, a 1920, an AU 1941-D, both Philadelphia coins from 1942, a 1946-S, and four Canadian coins. Sadly, I only found one 2009-D.
