I got one roll of nickels at a gas station, and one end was a 1939 nickel, and the other end was a 1966 nickel. Both of those years I keep. I got very lucky. The 1939 had no mintmark (I think those with a mintmark are rarer), but still was a cool find.

Results from last week's box: 29 pre-60's Jeffersons and 2 Canadian Nickels (1987/1994). Highlights of the older Jefferson nickels were a 46D, 47D, and 53S and one silver (a 44P). Also found 3 2009D nickels.

always a little disappointing to find pennies in a nickel box, but i'd be pleased if it resulted in a Buffalo nickel! AND a wheatie? thats insane. Are you able to tell the date? I cant from here. Also, "dadsoncoinhobby", is that a lamination on that War Nickel or just PMD?

@1962penny - I believe it is a lamination issue with the coin.

Quote: So this was my latest box of nickels. A record for me with pennies. All of this was found in one nickel box! Very interesting. I think you came out ahead though.

Hi all, Our weekly box was a little light on finds. There were 28 pre-60's Jefferson nickels in the box. The best finds were a 1953 plain to upgrade the book, both a 2009P and 2009D and a few San Francisco nickels (1941S, 1947S, 1952S).
