Thanks for your statistics on pre-58 mintage vs. approximate number in your circulating area. I've been looking for these numbers; I find it fascinating how coins fall out of circulation.

As for the silver/buff finds....I kind of suspected it would be few. More of a treasure if you do find it! Good luck :)

I searched for a $4 Nickels MWR but I founds a 1959 Old Jefferson nickels and 1954D Old Jefferson nickels.

I got $100 in loose MWR's (they did not have a box, but loose rolls), and I found a 1930 Buffalo nickel, and a 1944-D WW2 nickel. I still have a few rolls left, but I will save those for another day. I also got two Canadian nickels (1980 and 1999), and some pre-1960's.

Been searching nickels lately and have found a 1944 D silver and a 1996 canadian.
