This looks like Class VI extra thickness doubling on AMERICA. Specifically the E. I welcome your feedback.

Looks like damage to the E and the R. Many a coin has been spoiled in that area because of rollers.

Looks like the "ER" tops maybe die wear or chipping on that area?

May be damage, die wear, or a well placed chip. I will compare the whole reverse to another 1961 D Nickel tomorrow to see if all the devices are thicker than normal or just that spot. Thanks for the feedback.
