In hand the coin shows no signs of being cleaned.

Okay, just looks like there are hairline scratches from the pics.

This is a higher-grade coin than the '29-D you also posted. I'd say VF-30 for this one and maybe VF-20 or even F-15 for the other. This '29-S does show some faint diagonal scratches across the center obverse. Perhaps these are "slide marks" caused by movement of plastic album slides across the coin.

Interesting range of grades on this one. My feeling is this coin has some strike weakness in the center of the eagle, above the stomach and bottom quarter of the shield taking out much of the detail in those areas. On the reeding on the rim is razor sharp, on the obverse the detail around the rim is that of a high grade circ coin, there is also drape detail still remaining across the right leg above the knee.
Changing the lighting angle in the photo eliminates those pesky contact scratches high lighted by the lighting in the photo, those scratches are not noticeable in hand and are most likely from rubbing against other silver coins depending on where and how the coin was stored.
This just goes to show how important good photos are.

I'd say it's right around VF 30 from what I can see :)
It does kind of have a cleaned look as that's the first thing I thought when I seen the coin , it may just be the photos though ..
For me it' just doesn't have much eye appeal but overall not a bad coin ...
