My mother got this Morgan from her grandfathers estate today along with a lot of other coins and silver certificates.

Looks like this coin is in great shape for being stored for years.

Very nice. In my far less (way far less) than expert opinion, an AU, although the pic probably does not do the coin justice. How was it stored?

Actually I don't have a clue how it was stored. But I'll definitely need to get her a case for it though.

A nice Morgan. You may already know, but avoid cleaning it. It appears that there may be a little pitting (especially seen near the date). But that might also be the photographs. In any event congratulations for bringing it to light.

That coin is worth about $35 retail I think. You can get one in MS64 for less than $100. I have one in MS64. There are about 35-40 Morgans you can buy in MS64 for less than $100. These are coins that are graded and slabbed. I imagine they were graded and slabbed some years ago when silver prices were very high. I don't understand why anyone would have a $100 coin graded and slabbed, but I will buy them that way.
