One of my favorite drachm types from the second half of the empire's run. Nice pick-up, Albert. So Echizento, David, and now you each added a Parthian drachm to your collections within the last few weeks. I love it...may the contagion continue to spread.
I like it, an attractive coin. I can see the temptation to keep adding new examples and varieties of these coins because they are pretty interesting and pleasing.
My own Volo I drachm is a Sellwood 70.13 and, as such, it lacks the monogram behind the head of the king on the obverse - as we see on Albert's (the monogram, according to Shore, is an abbreviation of the king's name in Aramaic). However, mine does have a strange wide-eyed portrait with incredibly long nose and cool corn-on-the-cob hairdo. I love the weird artistry of some of these later issues.
