One of my favorite drachm types from the second half of the empire's run. Nice pick-up, Albert. So Echizento, David, and now you each added a Parthian drachm to your collections within the last few weeks. I love it...may the contagion continue to spread.

I like it, an attractive coin. I can see the temptation to keep adding new examples and varieties of these coins because they are pretty interesting and pleasing.

My own Volo I drachm is a Sellwood 70.13 and, as such, it lacks the monogram behind the head of the king on the obverse - as we see on Albert's (the monogram, according to Shore, is an abbreviation of the king's name in Aramaic). However, mine does have a strange wide-eyed portrait with incredibly long nose and cool corn-on-the-cob hairdo. I love the weird artistry of some of these later issues.

Sellwood 63.6 (Shore 341), Albert. 71.1 was the first coin, Volo I.

These Artabanos II's are among the most commonly encountered Parthian types. Yours is a very nice example. Congrats.

Okay, two down. I'm looking forward to number three!
