WARNING: PHOTO HEAVY

First of all, I do not collect Roosies. However, I saw this complete 1946-1953 set in Wayte Raymond boards in the shop and it looked pretty good to me, so I bought it for $75. All are BU and a few have some pretty cool toning from the boards. First, how did I do, and second, are any of these worth sending in? I kind of doubt it but hey, its worth asking.

Oh, and sorry if the pics aren't perfect. Getting the luster and toning together was harder than I expected.

The "key" 90% silver dates are 1949-S, 1955, 1955-D, and 1955-S. Don't look like you have any of the 1955s. As for value, my Roosies are all circulated, so I don't have a clue what uncirculated ones are worth. I know a lot of folks love toned coins, but not sure I'm a fan.

It comes out to about $3 apiece for BU 90% Roosevelts. I think you did just fine!

Looks fantastic. Price is pretty good. Tough part is finishing the collection and hoping for the same toning.

I would love to cherry pick some of those for one of
my sets.

As far as was it a good deal? depends on the grade of
some of the coins. Mostly the early "S" mint coins.

Any worth sending in for grading?

You have to look at what grade you have a chance at
getting.

For example, the 1949S.
Check out some ebay completed prices, for the grade
you might get. Then compare to the price of a raw
coin of similar grade.

The difference in price should tell you if it is worth
sending in for grading.
