Numismatic newsletter states the 3 coin set has a low mintage of 2500 and the $50 tricolor proof coin is only available in the set. The set costs $385 What's everyones thought on this? I find it beautiful but $$$

This is the set that shatsi is referring to. They are indeed beautiful coins but the issue price is a bit steep.

If you are buying them for the sheer beauty of the coins ,by all means go ahead, however investment wise, I doubt you will be able to recoup your outlay in a couple of years time.

Coins with a sporting theme has not fared well downunder. My recommendation is to wait for a while and you will be able to pick this up on ebay for less than the issue price.

If you can find them on ebay.

It is a good time to be buying, alot of items are selling well below issue price.
