Hi guys&gals, while searching the Bay this morning I happened upon a token from the 1876-1976 Deadwood (SD) Centennial. One side (I'll call it obverse) showed a miner and the words Homestake Gold Mine. The reverse was a depiction of the town as it might have been in the late 19th century.

I've been to Deadwood many times and I also have an interest in '76 medals, so I thought I'd buy it for the couple bucks BIN. Then I noticed the bar at the bottom with similar items and there was another, lesser version of the same. Anybody know about this medal(s), which is the Knock-Off, and why would anyone make a lesser copy of a <$10 item?

Rest in Peace

I decided to grab the one I thought was original:

http://www.ebay.com/itm/252229723822

and this was the one I figured was a knock-off or maybe just a 2nd edition:

http://www.ebay.com/itm/1876-1976-D...AOSwnipWUSRO

The first has more detail. The second some of the detail but ...

Sorry I haven't been around to carry on a conversation, I've been busy and am doing this sort of hit and run.
