Is it authentic? price on point? I have been wanting one of these for a while and this one caught my eye but the wear looks similar to one of his other auctions...

Gothic Florins are popular and there are many counterfeits as well as forgeries for sale. I just got a Counterfeit in today's mail in a group of coins.

So start off NOT EXPECTING a bargain.

Any coin being sold on ebay at an attractive price has problems. The first coin you listed is seriously corroded and has rim knocks. The center is very weak indicating the coin may have spent time in a bezel. The second one you listed has been cleaned.

Coins with problems will be hard to sell in the future and if you sell to a dealer expect a large reduction from retail level.

It is better to save up and bid in a Heritage type auction for a certified coin in VF to possibly EF. Expect to pay $150 or so. Anything less will never return even a minimal profit.

Gothic florins saw very heavy circulation, and so in higher grades tend to be pricey. Expect to pay accordingly for a genune coin.

For a period of two decades, the near equivalent value Half Crown was not struck; the Florin was expected to replace it in circulation.

Details look very faint for what appears to be an otherwise a coin with very little wear.
For Myself, I would need to do a comparative ring tone test with a known genuine Gothic florin, before making a decision to buy.
Can't do that with ebay.

This is a very popular type to collect, but quality is key. These two you posted both appear cleaned.

I didn't even see the rim nick on the first coin guess I had coin blinders on. I will check other auction sites to see what's out there.

Sorry, both of the coins are fake to me.
1) Difficult to find two coins of different years but same degree of wearing.
2) The rim engraving of both sides of both coins are bad.

I highlight the problems of the two coins and show my coin for comparison.
