G'day,
the date looks like Arabic numerals, but I cant remember the any after the "1": Krause will help with that. It's probably in the A.H. calendar, which Krause explains. What does that tell us ?
There are three stars on the date side, and seven on the other side. I bet that they are clues: I wish I were knowledgeable enough to draw an inference or two.
There is a fasces, which was used as a symbol by Mussolini's fascists.
My guess is somewhere -
occupied by Italians, but -
where the locals speak Arabic;
during the period 1923~45.
With my limited knowledge of that era, I'd start thinking Libya;
and if there was no joy there, I'd turn to Ethiopia.
Then I'd get frustrated.

The coin is from Egypt and depending on the weight eight a 2 Qirsh at 2.8 grams or a 5 Qirsh at 7 grams. It is .8330 silver and the date is AH 1327(3) which is 1911. Price range F-$5.00, VF-$10, EF-$40, and UNC $70. KM# either 307 or 308.

No, it's definitely a 2 quirsh. You can see on at the top of the second posted picture, beneath the three stars, the distinct Arabic numeral 2. Looks kind of like an upside down L.

No, that "2" is actually a "3", and it's the regnal year. the denomination is on the other side, below the toughra. This coin was also discussed in this thread.
