I have a Mississippi tax token that appears to be made of heavy paper of some sort. Do these actually exist and are they worth anything?

There's a Missouri cardboard tax token in the ebay archives, so it's certainly possible. Does it appear to be a government or private merchant's issue? A private issue would probably name the merchant.

Wow. I didn't know the forum had that particular "smilie"!

Sorry about the no pics thing, I thought it was an easy question. While I think it is made from some type of paper, it could also be made of plastic:

I finally found something....it appears that tax tokens were made of metal, paper and plastic. Judging by the size of this one (23mm) it is plastic.
