@ Cartwheelcollector. I saw that also, he has posted over 100 quarters now. I see some slabbed problem coins and some decent ones.
I still think this one may be ok, unless the photo's are doctored.

I did some searching today and found when, where, and from who this coin was purchased by the current seller. He got most of his SlQ's from one seller over a course of 2 years. I was able to compare some of the original sellers photo's to the new sellers photo's. They look enhanced. I could only find the current photo's (last 2 months) anything older I can only view the item description. The original seller had accurate descriptions and good photo's.

Here is an example, from the original seller. 1925 Standing 25c nice uncirculated detail! FREE shipping, NEVER tax!! (#331691520146)

1930-S-Standing-Liberty-Quarter,-Your-Thoughts-On-Grade.

Now here is the same coin, from the current seller.

1930-S-Standing-Liberty-Quarter,-Your-Thoughts-On-Grade.

Now back to the coin I purchased...

Here is the original description of the coin when it was sold over 1 1/2 years ago.

Wow! Superb GEM detail 1930-s 25c! LUSTER+++ FREE shipping, NEVER tax!! (#231223252848)

I can't look up the Item number (too old) even tried worth point. I have no idea what the cost was but my feeling it is a cleaned coin.

The moral of the story, if it is too good to be true it probably is.

I will wait to get the coin in hand and then post pics here.

RK, the one you bought has nice frosty mint luster, it does not appear to be cleaned. Looking forward to seeing your photos when the coin arrives.

It may appear to be fine in the images, but all of the circumstantial evidence points towards it having a problem. Best of luck with it though.

I Received the coin today. Very strong luster on obverse and reverse. The coin has a small stain on the reverse on the eagle's right wing, not bad but I don't know if that warrants a details grade?

No signs of hairlines or dipping/cleaning...just the light spot/stain/

Overall I like the coin, what do you guys and gals think?

I take it you mean the eagle's left wing facing.

Spot looks very circular in pic. Can you show us a close-up?

It's a beauty and I'm still at MS-65 on this one. Great coin.

Close up of the reverse stain on the coin. looks like a little fleck of metal in the center of the stain.

TPG's don't detail for stains unless you try to remove it. Seems unlikely, but could it be a spot where solder or something of the like was removed? That would be a details grade.

My gut said the photos were juiced somehow.

All else considered, I'm at MS-65 as far as the details and luster is concerned. I don't know what kind of effect the stain will have at a TPG.
Rest in Peace

I don't like that fleck of raised material inside the stain. I think it's a details coin at this point and if it were me I would be returning it.

Edit to add - Looking at your photo and the seller's photo side by side I'm convinced the seller's auction photo was photo shopped to hide the extra metal. All details appear very similar except this anomaly.

The coin is off to ANACS along with another MS 1946 DDR Walking Liberty half.

I decided to keep the 30-s quarter since I have a buyer who has seen it in hand and will pay me what I paid, if it comes back MS details. If it comes back graded non details I will keep it.

fingers crossed, and I will post photo's when it comes back.
