deathwaterkeg2 Valued Member United States 71 Posts	Posted 01/01/2016 06:10 am I sorted through my scrap copper pulling out 1960-d's 1964s 1969-s's 1970-s's 1971-s's 1972s 1980s, and all 1982's Do I keep all my 82's to look through, or do I throw back the ones with mint marks? Is there any dates I'm missing for popular verities? and I pulled out a couple really nice "wood grain pennies" I can't look at these coins for verities yet as I don't have a microscope to make proper determinations. sel_69l Bedrock of the Community Australia 21788 Posts	Posted 01/01/2016 06:52 am Accumulate copper wire instead. It's pure. No assay costs, no refining costs. When I was kid I used to collect anything copper and made quite a lot of money out of it. Keep all copper / bronze coins with numismatic interest. I have built a World collection of about 200 copper / bronze coins of the 19th century, all in lower grades, all worth very little per coin. Interesting collection nevertheless. deathwaterkeg2 Valued Member United States 71 Posts	Posted 01/01/2016 07:08 am @sel_69l I wanted to try to find verities in what I had, and I was wondering if I missed any dates where there were common years for a verity/DD and I collect copper pennies because I mean, it's a penny right? it's not going to hurt to keep just to have it.
