My bank would not ordor 6 boxs of half dollars . My bank teller ordored me 2000 dollar block of two dollar bills instead. He said they cant get new ones anymore. I checked bep website I think this block was printed on oct 2003 after checking there site monthly production figures. These block is all brand new never used or touched by human hands or ever opened since it was printed in oct 2003. Numbers are minn series03 002bri02199b, 08793001b. I think its been in bank vault for over 4 years before I bought it.

My problem I need half dollars becides this new old stock block of money. I hate to open it or destoy by spending the money on half dollar boxs since an its brand new unused block of old money.

For what I learned after talking with bank teller the goverment dont send new old money anymore. They are sending old 1976 thru 2003 wore out or used money to banks these days.

On ebay money dealers sell these blocks for around 2300 to 2500 after checking completed sales. They say they are rare to get or find. I dont know if is coin dealer hype or whatever to sell there stuff at overface. Most banks dont stock this stuff and I never bought them before and dont know anything about these things.

One problem I see on ebay an lot dealers will not take paypal on those blocks since guys try to do chargebacks and steal the dealers money on them. Its an scam they do after reading about it on ebay. I dont open my self to those scams if I list on ebay to sell it.

I dont know what do since I need fresh boxs of half dollars to search becides this block of money laying around. Are these are rare or worth anything or should I just toss them back to banks or use them as spending money? Its new to me on these since I never had one before. I only paid face value for it. Is it worth trying sell overface on ebay or toss it for half dollars.

Do you have any links to closed ebay auctions?

As long as the sellers are following Paypal's rules, they should be covered under the seller protection policy. The only snag would be if these notes are not considered collectible because they are so recent. In that case, they cannot be insured through the post office. Also, for shipments over $250, Paypal requires that the shipment be signed for. Sellers who don't do that always leave themselves open for chargebacks.

Do you have experience selling or buying on ebay? If not, and this is the route that you decide to go, you may have problems selling them. People are getting more and more wary of new sellers, especially when it comes to numismatic items.

Susan,

Here is link to one auction http://cgi.ebay.com/Block-1000-Two-...03_W0QQitemZ300191395288QQihZ020QQcategoryZ3421QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem It sold for 2400 on this block. They dont take paypal on this block in there terms.

http://cgi.ebay.com/2003-2-BEP-Bric...VE_W0QQitemZ320213004165QQihZ011QQcategoryZ40029QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem This was secord auction an seller sold his for.

This man who was having problems with chargebacks and did not want take paypal if you read his auction you will see on what on talking about.

I have sold cars over 20000 before on ebay and one car last year for 5000 aslong with of auto parts for last 3 years on that site.

I search half dollars looking for coins for my sets and pulling silver coins. I never ordored an block of money before from bank intill recently. I just wanted an used block where I can find 1976 cleaveland note for my set . I never did think I would get brand new block of money like this. I hate to waste since its unused block money. I know those two dollars are never used in the world and they not all that rare or very old . Us goverment claims they have 1.5 billion 1976 thru 2003 notes out there. 1995 are hard to find compared to 1976 and 2003.

On shiping that block to buyer . How can it be done if you ship it with post office without insurce on it. I dont if Dhl or Ups, fedex would insure it. I would we afraid to ship it and it get lost or stolen.

I should aslo talk with my banker at wells fargo to ask is this common for feds to send new old blocks of money like or is an rare shipment? I dont know ifs its common everyday thing. Maybe I can reordor another block to see . Most banks I deal with dont stock this stuff its all special ordors.

Thanks Chevrolet454ss

What a problem to have! LOL Well...sure hope you can sell this block for a tidy profit. Someone surely wants it for more than face value.

If you have at least 100 auctions with 100% feedback the buyers that are interested in blocks will trust you. The high rollers are always looking for promising investments. I personally would try ebay! It's your call though.

My feedback is like 307 and I have had 3 bad feedbacks in 3 or 4 years. I guess I could read about paypal and ebay to see how much it cost to sell aslong with 4 boxs of 2008 denver penny at same time.

Your guys are correct those 2 dollars bills are never used out there. That maybe why the feds or loomis trucking company sent an brand new 4 year old block like that since nobody uses them out there like half dollars. An lot banks dont even carry those things and its all special ordor stuff. I am amazed those peaple on ebay pay over face on those two dollar bills. Bep made billions of them of the two dollar bills. To me they onley worth face value to use as spending money. But those ebay peaple will pay over face on those worthless fed notes. I guess I will sell it to them no problem for an small profit.

It got me why those buyers on those blocks pay like this. Why dont they just ask there locol bank to special ordor an block if thats whats they want becides paying overface on it? It got me why ? I saw they paid over 900 bucks on an federal reserve bank box on an 500 dollar face value half dollar box. Used old half dollars in fedbox. I buy thoses boxs all time from banks and search them. I never find over 400 bucks worth profit in those boxs after searching over 14 boxes in last year. I find less maybe 10 1965 thru 1969 silver coins in those boxs each time if I am luckey. To get over 400 bucks profit you need buy maybe 20 boxs or more from your bank to find anything worthwhile after I went and searched 14 boxs in last few monlths.

Its same thing paying 1100 to 1500 on those 1000 dollar face new president gold dollar fed boxs. They do all time on ebay. Why I dont know why? I can get those all day long from banks if I wanted them.

I never knew ebay peaple would pay over face on stuff you can buy at your locol bank if you ask them to special ordor for you from the federal reserve banks. Ow well is its like to me its very bad investment to pay over face on blocks of money, boxs of dollar coins, used half dollar boxes you can buy at your locol bank if you ask for it.
