This coin has some VERY close notching on LU in PLURIBUS. There is also some notching on the N and S in CENTS. I welcome your feedback.

I see more doubling at the bottom of the L and U and around the R and the B of PLURIBUS than shown in the notching you have pointed out in the close-ups. I guess I need to be educated. Also, how does the notching indicate doubling?

Thanks for the feedback. The bottom of the L and U is actually a result of either Mechanical Doubling and/or Die Deterioration. It is flat and not raised, so it would not be considered true doubling. This link talks about this and in the third paragraph talks about notching. Someone with more knowledge may be able to explain notching in better detail as to how or why it happens.
