Ok I'm looking at this mint mark and wondering is it over another style S or is it just punched to hard ? I don't know whats up with this mint mark the rest of coin is pretty normal

To me it looks like someone was trying to make a type I into a type II.

As scstrawn says it looks like the 1981 MMS011, scarce Type 2, mintmark over the MMS010 from 79,80,81. How did it get that way though?

WOW I don't know how but I guess I just got the angle perfect I can kind of recreate this picture but the lighting and angle have to be perfect. Apparently it is an illusion. Check out these pictures to back up my theory.

Keep in mind these are punched into the die. So it a slight miss alignment happened, then it would be seen on the mint mark.
