I assume this was a gas station giveaway and carries no premium, but I bought it because I thought I could make out the name 'Barber' at the base of the bust and the fact that there was a "D" mark on the obverse, which obviously might mean anything at all...anyone tell me what you know so I can know it too--thanks! I am pretty sure that it is a US Mint medal. I have a Lincoln medal that is very similar to yours with an ornate bust on obverse and an inauguration wreath on the reverse. Mine does not have a D on the obverse and the reverse wreath is a bit different but the similarities are striking.

I purchased my Lincoln Medal at the Lincoln Home National Historic Site in Springfield, IL as a kid almost 25 years ago. Fortunately, mine has survived in the original US Mint embossed cello so its origin is obvious. Unfortunately, I do not have a picture of it right now but I will try to take one later this evening for comparison and I will get some dimensions for you as well. I can tell you that it larger than a half dollar but smaller than a silver dollar.

Yes, thank you, I think mine must be of the same origin.
