Hey everyone goes it going? So I got a nice 1845 large cent in very fine condition, problem is on the back there is 2 little spots of something sticky? Not sure what it is exactly but was wondering what would be the best way to try and remove it without hurting the coin. As always thanks so much for your responses and for everything I've learned since I joined here.
Rest in Peace

Can you post photos of the coin ? IF it's just something sticky ,I would use Acetone to remove. Will not hurt the coin.

Sometimes a soft wooden toothpick is all you need to remove small adhesions.

Yes, try acetone and a soft toothpick. Let us know how it worked for you. And 100% acetone, not fingernail polish remover.

Just a hint: search this Forum for Acetone Cleaning of your coin. There are a lot of things to keep in mind when you're using acetone.

Yeah I noticed the two hits also, I don't plan on starting a collection of large cents I just wanted a couple good examples and thought this one was ok for the price, I paid 15$.
