So a guy wins a $5 auction last night, and also sends me an offer on another coin for less than half of what I'm asking. He's also aggressively talking down the coin and saying it's only worth half because of this and that problem, and that this is his best offer. So I politely counteroffer, and also send an invoice for his purchase. Here's the kicker....he only joined ebay yesterday, and has 0 feedback, and I did a search of his address and came up with nothing, not even the street, let alone the house number. The zip code and city is correct though. Any suggestions? edit: I just talked with the Meadville PA Highway Dept, and they said there is no such street in Meadville. Gee, this really sounds suspect. I have a block for sellers who have under a count of 50 in feedback. I can't afford newbie negative feedback. If you can't verify his address you can simply refund the auction money letting him know that his address can't be verified so his order can't be protected or mailed. I would ignore his offer. Let it run out. Then put up the block. Sounds like he is setting you up to fail.If you send him the auction he can give you negative feedback unless you give him the other coin for a discounted price. Maybe he's just a nut!

So politely decline the counter-counter "sorry we see the coin so differently, guess we won't be able to agree on this one" and - IF you get notified he paid, ship to the registered address.
Sorry, you are overthinking this. The only place people mess with you is here...

Lily, I didn't know you could block buyers with a specific number of feedbacks, how do you do it? BStraus3, Yeah, I guess tracking will protect me. I won't overthink it....and stop messin' with me ......but you gotta admit it's weird the road doesn't exist, those highway departments know every road. Even the city office, who has a list of all the roads in alphabetical order, said it didn't exist. probably a 0 feedback hit and runner, hopefully he won't pay.

I've probably had a few hundred 0 bidders in the last 15 years, and only one didn't pay. If you ship to whatever address ebay lists, you are covered. Just make sure you do have tracking. I suggest you use the ebay label printer as that gives you even more assurance that nothing can go wrong.

This may be a road that the hiway district doesn't maintain. Have you googed "streets in Meadville PA"? I did, & some are not shown on maps. Now I'm overthinking.

Can you go on http://www.usps.com and do a zip code search or something and see what shows up with that address? Good Luck!

For $5 I'd mail it and forget about it. It isn't worth your time.

Vacation? My life is a vacation, that's why I have time to overthink this 'stuff.' What I need is a real job I tried the USPS site, and no address was found. That's what I get for checking my email at 1am....too much midnightism edit: Pawn, thanks for reminding me about the buyer preferences. Just updated them.

So the jerk doesn't pay after a polite message or two, and I open an unpaid item case after 4 days. Now mr jerk pays to close the case, and low and behold his shipping address changes to a legit confirmed address. Package will go out tomorrow with tracking. Something tells me I'm not done with this donkey yet.

Oh yes, normal ebay shipping and tracking will be used. Quote: Hey Ed , you sound a little aggravated . Not to worry, this is normal for me in my bizarro world. If I ever calmed down, I'd have a heart attack fur shure. Need to keep my blood up to feel normal
