I don't know if anyone has picked up on this or not. The coin in the slab doesn't match the title of the slab. Similar SP Jefferson fivers which have premiums are involved.

What do you think?

Maybe for some people, but honestly I don't think it adds anything for me personally. Buy the coin, not the slab! Some people are into it though.

To err is human...

It would be funny to see a PCGS Registry set built from such errors...

The title error itself should not increase the value but a 1997 SMS is worth considerably more than a 1994 SMS($200 vs $77.50 per Numismedia).

biochemist6, that's how I found this listing. I have a couple of the a'94s and was looking for a price range on the '97. Before I read the whole description I thought there might be something crooked going on but I see there is not.

I agree, if the title was for a '97 and the coin in the slab was a 1994, then there would be something extremely fishy about the auction.

SPP-Ottawa,... love it!

It would it the slab mistakenly had a much more common mintmark than was on the coin. Someone on here scored an 1873 CC Trade dollar for 1873 P price that way.
