Found this awhile ago and going through my collection and trying to figure it out and have no clue. It looks like it was mounted to a pin at one time. Looks to be some type of art medal, maybe for some art expo? Any help is much appreciated.

I am not that good at French, but guessing

Colony of Sigilles with live vendors

an address (96 rue de la Glaciere - which appears to currently be a large apartment building)

Organization of Art for everyone

-----
It looks like a badge or pin, perhaps worn by artists to advertise. If the pin broke off, the badge got lost, someone found it, and the rest is history.

Thank you Nss, now have to do some more research and see if I can't find anything else about that location and what it used to be.

I suppose it is a badge for a colony or an association of painters in the town of St Gilles sur Vie in the Vendee , a region in the south of France ; The event was organised by the association named Art for everyone ,housed 96 Rue de la Glacière in Paris. It seems me to be end 19th century.albert
