I'm pretty sure this is die deteriation doubling just thought it was interesting and kept me staring for a bit so wanted to share...

That would be MD actually. DDD pushes the devices outwards through the process of having tiny particles move across the surface. MD, like you see here, scrapes the devices, causing that shelf you see.

Thanks SSK-I've seen DDD examples where it looked shelf like to me anyway-just need to keep studying more and more examples to distinguish some of the tougher ones...

Now that I'm thinking about it I should of remembered it has to do with the direction of the metal flow because of the convex shape of the die(think that's right) but on some older Lincoln's I'm pretty sure ive seen die deteriation sometimes on the bottoms of the devices-is this possible? Yes I'm stuck on the die deteriation right now loll if anybody had some input on wether it's possible to ever see it in other directions id appreciate it thanks
