Par for the course on the "poor man's DD" The dies were over used and all kinds of weird stuff happened then. I got a roll of 1955 cents in a tube and out of 50, 19 show various dies that show that type of die wear.

That's a pretty cool coin.

A note though on the 55P's. Over the last few years I've sorted about 3/4 of million raw cents. In my opinion THE toughest 55p to find is a well struck example with no die cracks or die issues. I keep all of the best struck coins of each date/mm. And the late 50s are very hard, and the 55 may be the hardest date of all, to find as a well struck coin.
Rest in Peace

Found one similar to this over the weekend. Didn't think the poor mans double dies were worth the time! Think it had a nice little die crack too....

Not yet. The die would need another crack to extend to the rim. So far that hasn't happened to the die yet.
