My only Barber Half. I like it. I don't know what to grade it at, maybe VG? Thoughts?

Barber halves and quarters are some of the easiest of all types to learn to grade. Just check where the reverse wing feathers lose definition. The further out, the higher the grade. This is a F15 as per photograde.

VG10, F12 if all letters in LIBERTY are visible.

I'd say closer to F than VG, but I'm an optimist. A clearer view of the obverse would help. The price rise between VG and F is steep. I've seen many slabbed VGs that look great but the Liberty is not fully there and I'm guessing that's the reason they were not given a Fine. It any case it is a really nice looking coin. I'm trying to collect the Barber halves in about that grade.

The reverse is strong and gets into F12 territory. There are the first few letters of Liberty visible. I think it could go either way depending on the conservatism of the grader that day. I paid $22 for it when it was acquired from the LCS where I lived in those days. Not a bad price.
