i got a coin in an older ICCS holder today. a 1967 dollar SP-65 HC. I bought it for the old certification more than anything(it is PM 946).

with my luck, I dropped it and the inner holder broke my question is..if I get it reholdered will they put in the oroginal cert?

I would have thought that if the holder is "Compromised" then the cert is rendered invalid.

I am assuming you mean the internal holder that keeps the coin away from the PVC. Breakage is quite common with ICCS and silver dollars, I guess they were not engineered to handle the weight.

Why not send it to PCGS, Their holders are far more robust than the ICCS flips.
Leaving the coin in the broken inner flip will expose it to the PVC contained in the outer flip.
I have sent a few ICCS coins to PCGS as cross overs and they have all crossed without any dramas

If you don't mind, what's the cost and time to send a coin to PCGS?

Way more than your SP 65 is worth . Go to PCGS website. I will bet at least 65 bucks when ALL costs are included for one coin.

It costs me about $35 Australian per coin using the modern secure option when I send 20 coins in at a time.
It takes about 8-10 weeks from Aus, it should only take 6-8 weeks from Canada .
With the OP's coin being in an older holder there is a good chance it may go SP66, Images would be helpful.

65 dollars is a lot to spend on a coin worth under maybe 250$. could probably buy 2 more nice ones for 65$ of similar grade, then post them and the folks on the board will probably be just as right as a grading company. I wonder if an uber will rise up in the world of coin grading? So darned expensive, and it's a darned shame about those flips are cracking like that.

i do not care to get an upgrade on the coin, I was just wondering if they will reholder the coin and put in the original certificate.

Nearly a year ago, I had a couple of ICCS holders where the bottoms had split. They charged me $2.50 per coin to reholder (their rule is that most of the coin must still be in the original holder), and used the original certificates.

Sounds like this is by far the better option

They charge 2.50 to reholder on some occasions. If you submit lots of coins they will courtesy reholder for you.
If this poster submits one coin for reholder the real cost is 11 bucks registration both ways plus 3 bucks including HST .
Real cost is 25 bucks not worth it.

So another question about this topic.
I have a coin that deserves a 65. It's in an old holder with a 64. Should I send it back in the holder and ask for a re-graded? Or should I pop it out and start fresh?
I don't want to take it out and have it affect the POP report as its a very rare coin.

Hopefully someone can help

I think if you send it back to ICCS in the holder, they won't re grade it a 65. You'd have to pop it out and send it in.
