I have never seen a coin like it... I dont know what to make of it, I know very little about greek coins... I dont know if I love the coin or just find it so different that I want to buy it! If anyone has an opinion on its authenticity, or could tell me a little more about the coin it would be appreciated. Also its not cheap so an estimate on value would be appreciated so I dont overpay due to curiousity! thanks

it is a very nice coin , I think from Neapolis in Macedonia . Do you have more details : weight , sizes ? On the obverse there is a Gorgeion , on the reverse a head of Nike ; I think it is first half of the 4th century BC , more details for the authentification.albert

Thanks Ech, I'm looking through the archives and comparing the weights to this example, alot seem to be about 1.8grams, compared to this being about 1.59g. Should this be ringing alarm bells for me?

At two tenths of a gram difference I think it's acceptable.

Thanks all, I appreciate the input and value your opinions so I am going for this.... one last question... if I spent $100 on this, would I be overpaying?

I don't think you would be. To get anything this well centred with good details is usually going to cost you that sort of money.

I think as DavidUK , the quality is extremely fine , well centred .Only a epsilon (e) is not good struck on the reverse at right on the top.albert
